You can learn to cook from an acclaimed chef online this month, all to benefit a good cause.
Gerard Craft, the James Beard-award winning chef and owner of St. Louis’ Niche Food Group (Brasserie, Brasswell, Cinder House, Pastaria), will hold a virtual cooking class on Oct. 21 to benefit Operation Food Search. The event, dubbed “Pasta for Packs,” will specifically support Operation Backpack, a program from the organization that sends children who are food-insecure home with weekend meals throughout the school year.
Craft will lead participants through the preparation of both a salad and a fresh pasta dish. All ingredients will be included, with ticketholders picking up meal kits at Craft’s Clayton restaurant, Pastaria.
Tickets are $75 per pair of adults and $40 per pair of children. For those who also want to imbibe at home while following along, drink kits for two are also available for pickup at Pastaria for $20. Nonalcoholic drink kits are available for $12.
Tickets for the event can be purchased on the Operation Food Search website.
