This weekend, several of St. Louis’ most popular restaurants are joining together for a good cause.
The next “Restaurant Rally” will be hosted Sun., April 26 at City Foundry, the upcoming mixed-use development in Midtown that will feature a food hall, shops and office space.
“City Foundry STL will be a place for the community so it’s important that we show our support now, even before we open,” principal owner Steve Smith said in a statement. “Food brings people together, and this is a small way that we can support our community safely and celebrate our amazing city.”
The donation-based food drive-thru will function similarly to past fundraisers from the team behind Sugarfire Smoke House, Hi-Pointe Drive-In and the upcoming Chicken Out, featuring a pay-what-you-can model. All monetary donations will be split equally between The Gateway Resilience Fund and The Little Bit Foundation, both of which support St. Louisans impacted by COVID-19. City Foundry STL will also be matching all donations up to $25,000, with support from 1Stone Foundation, Lewis and Clark Ventures and Advantage Capital.
In addition to Sugarfire, Hi-Pointe and Chicken Out, the rally will feature food and drinks from Brasswell, Mission Taco Joint, Russell’s, Crazy Bowls & Wraps, Hot Box Cookies and Kaleidoscope Craft Brew Coffee.
Customers will enter the drive-thru fundraiser off of Vandeventer Avenue under Highway 40 and follow signage to order food and drink from their vehicles. All Restaurant Rally workers will be wearing gloves and masks and also engage in extensive on-site hand washing. Orders will be taken through car windows; cash donations will be accepted with contactless reception in a plastic tray, and donations can also be made through Give Butter online here. To donate via Apple Pay, Venmo and other apps, text CFSTL to 202.858.1233.
The Restaurant Rally will be held from 9am until sold out.
