You can support kids in your community just by learning how to make some delicious barbecue, thanks to an upcoming event from Sugarfire Smoke House.
The popular St. Louis-based barbecue chain has teamed up with Operation Food Search for Operation Barbecue, a virtual cooking class led by Sugarfire’s award-winning executive chef Matt Glickert. Glickert will lead attendees through a demonstration of a full meal including chicken, shrimp and vegetable kabobs, creamy lemon-herb coleslaw and grilled Yukon gold potato salad.
Tickets for the May 13 event are $65 for two adults or $100 for a family pack that serves four people, and each ticket includes virtual event access plus ingredients to make the meal, available for pickup at five area Sugarfire locations. Beer pairings, including a four-pack of 4 Hands City Wide, are also available for $12.
The event will specifically benefit Operation Backpack, OFS’s program that sends food-insecure children home with weekend meals.
Operation Barbecue will take place on Thu., May 13 from 7 to 8:30pm. Tickets are available for purchase on OFS’s website.
