South City’s newest café features beverages, baked goods and bicycles. Road Crew Coffee & Cycles debuted on Oct. 19 in Tower Grove South, offering Blueprint Coffee, pastries from Whisk: A Sustainable Bakeshop and Donut Drive-In and a full-service bike shop.

The concept comes from co-owners Patrick Woodling, Andi Zekthi and Christopher Green, who all belong to local bicycle racing group Road Crew. According to Woodling, the St. Louis natives all bonded over their shared passion for cycling and hope to extend the sense of camaraderie found through the sport to the local community.

“We thought this would be great for Tower Grove, which has a big cycling base but is lacking a concept like this for people to meet up at for small pick-me-ups before group rides and events,” Woodling says. “It’s just a friendly environment for everyone in the cycling community and anyone in general who wants to enjoy good coffee in a welcoming, open place.”

Road Crew Coffee & Cycles fills a new 1,500-square-foot corner space on the first floor of MOFO Urban Residences. Seats are available for around 25 guests inside, with a few additional tables on an outdoor patio. Blackline Design + Construction served as the contractor for the space, which features an abundance of natural light from tall windows that wrap around the building.

The sleek interior design is comprised of industrial touches such as concrete floors and white subway tile juxtaposed with repurposed wooden tables from Refab, additional hand-fabricated wooden fixtures, a black painted ceiling and aqua-blue accents.

“The most exciting thing is being able to interact with friends, family and new people under one roof. It’s really come to be a community place,” Woodling says.

From the beverage menu, choose from espresso drink options including cortados and seasonal lattes such as a candy cane latte. Drip coffee is also available including featured monthly roasters such as Temple Coffee. “The Dude” is a specialty drink option featuring cold brew and eggnog.

Additional drinks include a selection of teas, a chai latte and CBD seltzers. Snacks include a selection of donuts from Donut Drive-In and pastries from Whisk such as Pop-Tartlets, scones and bars.

On the shop side, visitors can find everything from bike builds and parts to unique, curated accessories and apparel including helmets, shoes and streetwear. Road Crew is a Specialized Bicycles dealer and also offers a full-service shop that can build and repair bikes from the ground up.

Road Crew Coffee & Cycles’ coffee shop is open daily from 6:30am to 6:30pm. The bike shop is open 10am to 6:30pm.
